Anti-Sprint

My dad recently received a call from someone at Sprint saying he had a free phone offer. My dad is a tough guy to convince when it comes to paying for anything, but when it comes to free stuff, like most of us he said bring it on. Yup, everything was fine and dandy until the free phone arrived a few weeks later. First of all, as expected, the phone was a simple feature phone with a slide out full QWERTY keyboard. That's not bad for the price right? Wrong! If you look at my dad, a big guy with big hands who works on automobiles all day and think he can use a phone with tiny buttons, you will only get a very frustrated customer. So what phone did he get you may ask? It was a LG Remarq, the 3.5" by 2.5" slide phone. Check out the review here. I am not saying it is a bad phone, but it is not the right phone for my dad. This is where things went really wrong! Keep reading to get more juicy details about Sprint.

New Android Market

Google today announced the brand new browser-based Android market. Yup, the long awaited browser-based market has arrived. Now we can quickly find apps for our Android smartphones and even install them from the new market -- all over the air. If you login to the site, you will be able to see what apps you already purchased and have installed. But it seems there is an issue with logging in to the site. I bet Google is on it and will fix the issue as soon as possible after their launch party subsides.

In any case, the new design and features are welcomed with open arms and have been long awaited. What do you think about it? Head over to http://market.android.com and see for yourself.

Update : It seems the login issue has been resolved. Go check it out people.

Netflix Streaming Only Plan

Netflix today launched it's long awaited streaming only plan. I know a lot of people are saying, about time or finally because a lot of us really didn't need the DVD's in the mail right? Well, I still have my $13.99 2 DVD and unlimited streaming plan (no longer offered). But for people with iPhone's, iPad's or who just want to watch movies and TV shows online are now in luck. But with this, Netflix is increasing the prices of other plans too.

10 things iOS4 does better than Android 2.2 (according to eWeek anyways)? Print E-mail

Android vs. iOS

Okay, I just read this article on eWeek this morning about why iOS4 is better than Android 2.2 with a list of the top 10 reasons. Now, if you are an Android user, you would probably get upset and think the author is insipid. If you are and iOS user, then you would think every word of the article is accurate and believe it like these are words from Steve Jobs. In any case, to write an article about why one mobile operating system is better than another without have statistics or facts is pointless and plain stupid.

Read on to see what I mean...
