AMD Launches Two-Chip Graphics Card
AMD launched for PC gamers a two-chip graphics card that it hopes will give it a lead in price and performance over rival Nvidia. The ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 combines two graphics processors on a single board, giving it nearly double the performance of the single-chip Radeon HD 3870 introduced in November 2007, according to AMD. The latest graphics card tops a Teraflop, or 1 trillion floating point operations per second, which is the equivalent of a trillion mathematical calculations per second.

Verizon Opens its Network?
Verizon Wireless announced that it will open its network to non-Verizon phones and applications starting next year. But they must meet the minimum technical standard. What this means for us is that we could have many more choices for devices/handsets that we can use on their network. What do you think of this move from Verizon Wireless? Is it worth it? Do you think this will help us? Or not?

Google to bid on the 700MHz spectrum!
A lot of people are saying that Google will bid on FCC's 700MHz wireless spectrum auction on January 24th,, 2008. All bidders must let the FCC know what they want to do by December 3rd, 2007. So what will happen if Google gets its own spectrum? How will this affect the major wireless providers? Will this action from Google cause lower wireless plan prices? I hope so. I am all for Google getting into this business. More competition means more choices for consumers, therefore more supply and less demand. Resulting in lower prices! What do you think? Let me know!Labels: General, News

Abu Dhabi and AMD working together?
Abu Dhabi will invest around 550 to 700 million dollars in AMD. Sounds to me like they know something that we don't know. Maybe the oil industry is going down south. Who knows. But I know one thing for sure--AMD will benefit the most from this. They will have more money to come up with better technology to beat Intel once and for all. What do you think?Labels: General, News

AMD launches the new ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series Video Cards...
AMD launched its ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series graphic cards that will work with it's next generation Quad-Core processors. This is great news for gamers out there. But are today's games using todays hardware to the fullest? Maybe the next generation of games will. I think games are usually a generation or two behind the hardware. But thats just my opinion. Let me know what you think.Labels: General, News
