eVGA GeForce 7800 GT Graphic Card

Best in its class!

About four weeks ago one of my clients wanted me to upgrade the graphics card for their computer and they decided to go with this new eVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB graphic card to make their gaming experience the best.

I jumped right one it as I had always used graphic cards made by nVidia know that they are the leader in the industry. My client requested this particular graphics card as he wanted to be able to play the latest games and have the best possible video quality on my client's computer. I paid about $320.00 for this card, but let me tell you that it is worth every penny (I also got a $20 mail-in rebate). I recommended this card over the GTX version as I know you can get the same results if you overclock it. I did not recommend the regular 7800 because it would require a lot of overclocking and that would result in over heating problems.

HOW DID HE DECIDE TO BUY THIS?
After researching for a week or two my client told me that he was interest in this particular card so I told him what I would recommend. When I bought this GeForce 7800 GT it was on sale for $299.00 after a $20 mail-in rebate.

He was upgrading from my old GeForce FX 5200 video card which was good, but he wanted more graphic power and was willing to spend a more money to acquire that. The reason he went with eVGA because his last one was the same brand and he wanted to stick with it. I also recommended this brand to him.

Very nice review, and I'm envious of your client. :)

I've been considering upgrading to either a 7800GT or a 7800GTX, but haven't made a final decision on which brand to get. Couple questions for you:

1) What case did you install this card into? I am worried about getting a new video card because my 6800GT barely fits into my current Antec case. I installed another 120mm fan, and the length of the video card leaves no room between the fan and the end of the video card. If I get a video card that is even 1/2" longer, I won't be able to install it.

2) Did you see any issues with overheating when you overclocked the card?

Again, very good review.

My client has the Thermaltake Tsunami ATX Case. And it fits fine. As for overheating when overclocked... the temperature does go up, but since I put two additional case fans it was controlled. This is a big case so there is a lot of air flow.

If you are a gamer, yes, this game is definitely good for you.. However, I won't spend that much to buy a video card. ...

but you have a nice review though!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

And I agree with you completely. This is good for you if you want to play games. But if you just want to surf the web and do office work then you will be better of with a cheaper card. My client likes to play games a lot so he went with this card.
